RUNNING GEAR ADVICE

Gear Advice for Recreational and Beginner Runners

Shoes - Tops/Bottoms - Hats/Gloves/Socks - Accessories

Whatever our speed or endurance us runners love our gear – especially our shoes. We get a chance to display our personality and individualism, and even who we support. Now I’m not trying to be an all-inclusive shop for you. I’ve only selected the brands and gear that I’ve personally bought and used and worked for me. Where an equivalent gender product is offered I’ve listed it.

Think of these as starting points for your category search.

I’ve split the list of products into four sections with shoes taking pride of place. Shoes are and should be where the bulk of your hard-earned dollars are invested. But beyond that good quality tops and bottoms avoid chaffing and weather protection. Depending on where you live you may need an extra layer of tops and bottoms in cold climates, and the addition of hats, gloves, and socks.

The accessories section includes products I’ve found useful in keeping my running and recovery experience supportive and fun.
